Can Anyone Use Invisalign To Straighten Teeth?

There may be some dental cases where severe misalignment of teeth may require metal braces. Dr. Chow in Thousand Oaks will examine your teeth, jaw and bite to determine whether Invisalign is an option for you. Chances are they will be; he feels that just about anyone is a candidate. If so, he will go over the Invisalign process and answer all your questions.

What Conditions Can Invisalign Treat?

Overbite

This condition can cause pain in the jaw and jaw joints. The lower teeth suffer more wear and the gums can get irritated.

Your clear aligners will be custom made for your mouth. Approximately every two weeks, you will change your current aligner to the next one in the series. How many aligners you will have depend on your teeth and how much alignment is required. Generally, adults take up to a year while teens usually take about two years. Every time you change aligners, you can see the progress your teeth have made. You will also see Dr. Chow approximately every six weeks as a follow-up.

You are encouraged to wear your Westlake Village Invisalign aligners for 20 to 22 hours each day. You will take them out to brush and floss your teeth, and you can take them out to eat. It's important to wear them as often as instructed in order to obtain results.
